My neighbour met a couple gingerly using their Cymraeg in the shop in which she works, whom explained they were learning from an internet course run by a couple from Llŷn, of which the man was once a learner himself... I wonder who they are?

Dw i'n tybio hefyd.... Isn't that wonderful? For my part, it is so exciting to be able to explain to people that I have learnt Welsh, not from a book, not from classes, but from a marvellously dedicated couple living in Pen Llŷn!

What a wonderfully inspiring account, Jesse, and what super memories to take home with you! The people of Llanberis must have loved you! I visited Llanberis several times many years ago before I could speak any Welsh, unfortunately, so I can't wait to return there to follow in your footsteps!

And I would love the opportunity to sing the Welsh National Anthem at full tilt in the way you (plural!) have described! The fact that everyone knows the words as well helps, unlike the Australian National Anthem, where after the first line everyone peters out with sheepish looks!
