Encouraging Ethnic Minorities

Welsh for Adults, Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan, are interested in encouraging more people from different ethnic backgrounds to take up learning Welsh. They say:

Ethnic minorities make up 11% of the total population of Cardiff, and our statistics show that 4% of our Welsh learners are from an ethnic minority background.

They are offering 10 scholarships to people of ethnic minority backgrounds to learn Welsh. They would have to be available to attend classes for 30 weeks on Thursdays 4pm to 6pm starting in September.

The closing date for applications is 17th August, and the applicant needs to live in Cardiff or the Vale and fulfil a few other criteria. The information and application form are available at:
