Summer Events

There is quite a lot going on in Cardiff and the Vale, especially leading up to the National Eisteddfod in Llandow, near Cowbridge. Here's a list from Ifan Dylan (Informal Learning Officer - Glamorgan Welsh for Adults Centre):

Speaking Club / Walking Club / Trip to the Eisteddfod
The Glamorgan Welsh for Adults Centre has arranged many events for learners who want to practise speaking and reading Welsh this summer. Clubs will be run on a fortnightly timetable between 02 July and 24 August. The Centre will also be holding two walks during the summer, and a day trip to the National Eisteddfod in the Vale of Glamorgan. The details for these events are on the timetable (attached).

Cymanfa Ganu
3pm, 1 July, Tabernacl Chapel, Porthcawl.
A chance to sing Welsh hymns – suitable for learners of all levels.

Tafwyl Fair - Cardiff
12pm-6pm, Saturday 23 June, Cardiff Castle. There will be a large tent with plenty of fun, informative and free sessions for Welsh learners of all levels and those completely new to the language!


Gartholwg Festival
10am-2pm, 16 June, Garth Olwg Centre, Church Village.
Music, stands, activities for children, art and craft, treasure hunt - something for everyone!

Welsh gig - Abercwmboi
Twmpath with Jac y Do
7:30pm, 13 July, Abercwmboi Rugby Club, £6.
