Luxury northern Bootcamp - Gadlas - FOOD!!!!!!

Postby Catrin Lliar » Sun Mar 02, 2014 6:21 pm

It's that time again guys - what do you fancy for your inaugural meal for your first night in Gadlas?

As you know the plan is that I provide a meal for the first evening so that you can relax and settle in, then on the Saturday there will be a chance for you to go shopping for provisions and sort out amongst yourselves who's cooking each night and if there's a night/nights you'll be eating out as an alternative.

Another tradition of Bootcamp is that attendees usually make one stop on the way to pick up the following -

    tea
    coffee
    milk
    sugar
    cereal
    bread
    butter
    jam/marmalade

...etc in order to have the basics for breakfast... oh and wine, and possibly beer, and maybe cider for those first day nerves and first evening's meal... :dawnsio:

I'll leave it up to you, to you decide to sort out amongst yourselves who's bringing what from the above list, or if it's each to their own. I guess the most important thing to avoid is not ending up with a fridge full of milk and butter and no room for anything else! Also bear in mind that those with special dietary requirements will probably bring their own basic provisions anyway.

So back to the first night's meal, I'll add a poll to this thread and you can vote for your favourite - they'll all be home made! The poll contains Pudding and mail meal and it has been set up so you can choose two options - therefore one main meal choice and one pudding choice and I'll make the favourites!

Please also let me know if you are vegetarian or vegan - thanks! :)

Cast my votes, but I'm easily pleased.

I will bring red wine and can bring anything else required, like bread, milk, etc. no probem.

Since I'm vegetarian I only voted for dessert--if my vote wins I'll be happy to have only that!

Shall we divide the breakfast shopping between you and I, Stu?

I could bring, say, bread, spreads and cereals if you bring tea/coffee/milk/sugar ...

Gruntius: we'll be stopping for some shopping, right? I need to get my own breakfast stuff.

And I just solved the eternal problem for what to cook on the weekend. Since I had no idea wtf enchiladas was, I asked google and found this. And now I'm almost drooling on my keyboard. Image
