Yn helpu'r heddlu gyda'u hymholiadau

Is this a SSiWer first?

Our local community police officer called round this evening. My wife invited him in, sat him down then announced that I spoke Welsh (Thanks Maureen :-? ). From then on, of course, the interview was entirely in Welsh. It concerned some miscreant who had stolen a portable toilet last Sunday after a local show and towed it through our village where it broke away from the tow rope. (There must be a film plot there  ).

The interview was quite detailed and complicated and involved several technical expressions like "Portalw" :harhar: The thing is that Maureen, a Derby lass, who has always denied being able to speak Welsh gave an immediate and detailed reply. She's being holding out on me yet again.

My son has just asked whether the culprit, if he/she is caught, will be in deep sh**

So on a scale of 1 to 10 just HOW much did you doubt you'd understood correctly???

This is my favorite bit of the story. I picture you looking like :wow:.

What about you? Did you find yourself well-equipped with the Welsh necessary to talk about watching a careering runaway Portalw? Oh, never mind. Of course you did.

At the risk of upsetting the forum censors, I'd suggest "cachu ddwfn"
Any better suggestions?

8-ish for understanding and 10 for keeping a straight face.

I am legally obliged to point out that, with the portalŵ recovered, the police have plenty of evidence to go on.

The old ones are the best, aren't they?

She's being holding out on me yet again.

  A good marriage always contains surprises. Got to keep the mystery going!

Was this on the news this week? Or was it something else about facilities? Is this the week for overall plumbing woes?
