Do Dream Encounters Count?? EDIT: Another One...

Postby CYD » Tue Jul 03, 2012 10:35 am

Hopefully they do...as I'm in the US and that's about all I'm getting for the moment...

To be brief: Woke up in the wee hours of the morning and it was hours before I could get back to sleep, so my subconscious panicked and shoved everything in at once. I won't bore you with the details; basically I was at a football game in Minnesota, the people behind me were speaking Welsh, and I was excited that I could understand them. I think I spoke to them briefly as well.

Dream encounters definitely count! They prove that your brain is processing and using your newly learned Welsh skills! I'm no expert, but I'm sure you'll find it a lot easier to access the Welsh you used in your dream, in waking life, from now on!

You did much better than my first few dream encounters, then - which all involved me running away when people tried to speak Welsh with me...

That IS good news then!

Mind you, I don't remember what they said...or what I said...but it was Welsh.

Maybe it was something about the game. Which, as I vaguely recall, was co-ed.

ANOTHER One

Postby CYD » Sun Jul 08, 2012 11:00 am

Had yet another last night, so I thought I'd jot down the bit before I forgot...don't worry, it's very brief.

I was sitting next to someone on a lawn at a movie/documentary. It showed a Welsh street sign that started with "Llong..." and I wondered at the pronunciation out loud.

The someone next to me (woman, long-ish light hair) corrected my pronunciation and said something in Welsh.

I was so flustered I said, "Dw i n siarad cymraeg..." and lamented that I didn't know the word for "too." Which is odd because, awake, I do know the word.

That's all.

Sounds like someone whose subconscious is happy for them to start turning into a Welsh speaker...:D
