I did it (with a little help)

Postby roselander » Fri Nov 18, 2011 2:24 pm

I was driving to the post office rehearsing what I would say when I got there......bear with me as I can't write welsh yet....

"I'm trying to speak welsh. How do you say first class packet please?"

I walked in the door and they kinda know me in there - even though I tried out the welsh sounding hello they still spoke to me in English. I was about to cave in when I saw Nicola from CYD (Llandysul) at the counter and she encouraged me to try it out....so I did.....and we even managed to talk about the meet up later in the Porth and whether we would be there. Thanks to Nicola

Thats it - I'm committed to Welsh in the post office.....next the Spar.....

Yay!

You've cheered up my dull Friday afternoon no end!

Please DO read the forum guidelines. And how about putting up a poster or two in your locality?

Rose - when you got the cat and dog out of your bag for the show and tell in Llandysul last month (after, what, 5 lessons?), I know that you would be a Welsh speaker very soon.

Public Welsh after lesson 7 just makes me even more sure.

The SSiW mantra: "Don't worry. If you say something slightly different to me, people will just think you are from a different area / village / street / family to them, or more likely not notice at all!"

"Do not fear going forward slowly; fear only to stand still." Chinese Proverb
