Off with the leg, a premature amputation.

Postby davethecave » Fri Sep 04, 2009 5:38 pm

I was listening in on a conversation about someone in the village who had had an accident.
From my limited knowledge of Welsh I understood that the poor woman had had her leg cut off half way up her thigh.

Torri gwallt means haircut
Torri coed involves cutting down trees

I have since learned that torri can also mean broken.
Whilst it is still serious, I am sure its better to have a broken leg rather than a severed leg.
