What a fantastic day! Up at 5.30am to watch 2 great games of rugby and then get ready for my second organised meet with reginald531 (and Caitlin).

It's amazing, I wasn't nervous at all this time and we had a lovely fish and chips lunch gyda siarad Cymraeg.

We flipped backwards and forwards from English to Welsh and it was all very relaxed and comfortable. And the staff in the little English pub was very welcoming and didn't mind us gabbling away in Welsh at all! I'm looking forward to meeting up again soon.

I'm feeling pretty tired now but it was great to be chatting again in Welsh and its inspired Caitlin no end! It's been a brilliant day, so I just wanted to quickly share it with you.

Hi Harmony!!!!!! Caitlin is doing brilliantly and has finished the first 6 lessons. She has had a break for 3 weeks because of her school work and commitments but she's 'full steam ahead' again now (she says looking over my shoulder)

I've been doing well - I'm up to right around Lesson 14 (I must do a progress report some time soon), and I'm still enjoying it. I've recently started taking weekly horse riding lessons (I'm working to earn them), so that has been an exciting development. I can never resist using my Welsh on the barn cats there...!

Yes, the downs especially can be sudden and dramatic! But they are such beautiful creatures, aren't they?

Diolch yn fawr iawn... But I do think that the same is true of you! I've consistently found that all animals understand Welsh much more easily than English...I wonder why? But I'm starting to feel like I've hijacked Vaughan's thread here, so I had better be quiet now!

Actually, I find my cat to be the best listener of all! She loves hearing me speak Welsh and she never gets tired of me talking to her. Perhaps its the rolling rrrrrrrrrrrrr's

So your cat is hypersensitive to Welsh, too? It's really amazing how well my cat understands everything. It used to be that when she was being really good, she would come when I called her, but now when I tell her to come in Welsh, she almost always does immediately. I do think that it has something to do with the sound of the language - the rrrrrolled rrr's and all of the vowels are rather similar to the (vocal) language cats use.
