For those of you who, like me, know that you know more than enough but find it difficult to get started actually talking, I'd recommend having a game of Guess Who or I Spy. We were playing for a couple of hours or so last weekend (in mixed company, so there was a bit of translating too). It gives you a framework, something definite to talk about, a chance to use quite a wide range of words, and unlike English where you can only (or should, at least ) answer yes or no, you can be a bit more helpful with your answers in Welsh.
