I was in a bar in London with friends last night and met a friend of a friend who is a first language welsh speaker. We managed to have a half hour conversation in welsh where he was amazed how well I could speak after learning for only a year.

It's really made my weekend! Hopefully I'll get a second chance tonight!

Well done you, give yourself a big pat on the back I'm trying to have a conversation with a Welsh speaker every day, which is a challenge living in a city where I don't know a single one (thank er, whoever for Skype ), but things like you have described are wonderful! Just imagine what could be happening in a year from now!
