Congratulations from me as well, Phil! When I say "You're doing really well" etc during the lessons, it can feel quite artificial, because I don;t know what each learner is doing, nor how they are getting on with the excitement and disappointments of learning a new language. All I know is that they have got to such-and-such a point without their heads exploding, and that's a good pointer that they are working the magic.
When I see a story like yours, it suddenly gives me a full insight into how well some of you are working that magic, and how much that means to you. The only way I can describe the feeling I get from that is that it's like being a father, and watching your kids achieve the milestones at home and in school - it's pride, it's excitement, it's elation - ok, yes, it's relief as well - and when I think of how it makes me feel, I can only begin to imagine how it must feel for you.
Thank you (all) for doing what you're doing!
