Amsterdam adventures.

Postby youngblandford » Sun Oct 27, 2013 7:12 pm

Well I've had a cracking time trying out my Dutch in Amsterdam this weekend. Had a lot of fun ordering food and drinks, and asking for Der Reckoning! Who knew paying for something could be so enjoyable?

I also passed the saysomethingindutch website on to a Polish waitress who was over the moon because she's just started learning too.

Managed to pick up a few new words which haven't been covered yet and picked out a few words listening to TV and train announcements.

Hopefully I'll be even better for Antwerp in February.

That's made my day!

Wait, you were listening to train announcements? Those won't be covered until the master classes, nobody can understand them!

I managed to catch "teen minuten" and "spoor fife", so probably more than what I'd understand on a northern England train.

I did think that it might be an idea to try marketing SSI to restaurants and bars for staff that don't speak Dutch or Spanish.
